Get in top shape with the stepper after pregnancy - what you need to watch out for

Getting back into shape after pregnancy is one of the greatest wishes of sporty women - if you also want to get back into training after giving birth, there are a few things to bear in mind. This applies to training in general as well as specific workouts on the stepper. You can find out how and when you should start exercising on the stepper again after pregnancy here.

The secret of the slim and beautiful

Pregnancy is not only associated with extraordinary physical strain, but also with weight gain. And models in particular repeatedly demonstrate how quickly they get back into shape after giving birth. However, you shouldn't necessarily take this as a role model, as there are clear release times that you should stick to. If you have a staff of highly paid personal trainers, you have completely different requirements.

Basically, this means that you can start to retrain your pelvic floor muscles just a few hours after giving birth, go for a light walk about a week later and should concentrate on muscular retraining in the first two months after pregnancy.

Eight weeks after the birth, light endurance sports will come back into play. This means that the stepper will have to wait for you for around two months after the birth. Even then, you shouldn't take things too quickly. This has something to do with the fact that you not only lose muscle strength through inactivity during pregnancy, but your joints also suffer from the different form of exercise. If you immediately swing yourself onto the stepper at your old intensity, you are very susceptible to injury and can easily acquire the wrong (pain-avoiding) technique.

Special care should be taken on the stepper after a caesarean section. This is because the course of the incision and the healing process are very important here, and it is always a good idea to consult your doctor before resuming exercise.

Come time, come sport

Basically, patience is required, the performance and muscles will come back. It often takes six months before you can do sport again without restrictions. But then the stepper is a great piece of equipment for toning tissue in your legs and bottom after pregnancy. And, of course, it's easy to work out at home while your little one gently slumbers away.
