Fitness facilities with prevention and rehabilitation programs are becoming increasingly popular. If you want to establish yourself successfully in this area, you need competent staff. The further training course "Medical Fitness Coach" at the IST Study Institute starts in November and provides participants with the specialist knowledge they need to be fit for the secondary health market. Graduates of the one-year, part-time course will be able to develop preventative and rehabilitative training concepts.
Extending the therapy bench into the studio
The ageing society, the increase in widespread illnesses and the growing health awareness of politicians, cost bearers and the population are turning many fitness studios into an "extended therapy bench". Many best agers, but also young people with injuries and older visitors with various medical conditions are flocking to the clubs to do something for their health.
It is becoming increasingly important for fitness facilities to have a holistic range of services and specialized health staff. After all, expert trainers ensure satisfied members. The IST further training course "Medical Fitness Coach", which starts in November, is aimed at trainers who already have a trainer qualification and would now like to specialize in preventative and rehabilitative fitness training.
After completing the 12-month training course, medical fitness coaches combine fitness training with basic sports therapy knowledge and can provide competent and reliable support to customers after a slipped disc, torn cruciate ligament or heart attack. They are able to carry out specific performance diagnostics and design appropriate training plans for clients with various complaints such as high blood pressure, arthrosis and diabetes. In addition to the IST diploma, the graduates also have four certificates and three A licenses.
