The generally applicable standard guidelines for employees and exercising members strongly recommend adherence to the following basic principles:

  • Regular hand washing - duration 60 sec.
  • Regular airing - every 15 min.
  • Wearing a FFP2 or surgical mask over mouth & nose
  • Keeping distance - also during training and coaching - at least 1.5 m
  • Disinfection of surfaces and equipment at every change/ after every training session

Facts about the Covid-19 pathogen

Be sure to remember that the survival time of the Covid-19 pathogen varies on different surfaces! The viral pathogen persists longer on smooth surfaces than on rough structures.

  • Stainless steel/plastic/glass - capable of replication for up to 72 hours
  • Cardboard - capable of multiplying for up to 24 hours

Under optimal (!) conditions, the viral pathogen can continue to live on smooth surfaces for up to 28 days and thus cause infections. Room temperature is an important criterion: researchers at the Ruhr University in Bochum have found in laboratory experiments that the Covid 19 pathogen remains infectious at a room temperature of 20+ degrees and can be broken down more slowly on the various materials.

Measures to clean your gym

Thorough cleaning of your entire gym is a given before opening. Keep in mind:

1. time management

Thorough cleaning and disinfection of your gym takes time. Be sure to plan enough time. Important. Don't forget to turn on the air conditioning and ventilation system before cleaning your studio - this will help you avoid duplicate cleaning work once the ventilation system is up and running.

2. a protocol of the completed activities

Create a checklist for your studio, according to which you can work through each surface and document the cleaning. This will keep you on the safe side and ensure you don't overlook any area.

3. Create a cleaning schedule to minimize the risk of infection to your team and members.

To ensure safety even while your studio is open, surfaces and equipment must be kept clean. To ensure cleaning compliance, it will help to have a schedule that needs to be completed.

Carry out the cleaning of your gym

As a general rule, clean your surfaces and equipment by wiping disinfection, not just by spraying on detergent and disinfectant.

A special focus needs to be placed on these areas of your gym:

  • Equipment & lockers
  • Showers/Saunas
  • Flooring throughout the gym - This should definitely be cleaned after the fitness equipment and surfaces.

With our innovative STERILYTE FL X surface disinfectant, you can easily rid all of your equipment and surfaces of any germs and viruses.
