If you have any signs of the disease, you should really avoid going to the gym. However, it doesn't matter whether you have a normal bacterial cold, influenza or COVID-19. Sport is generally not recommended when you are ill, as you are putting a strain on your weakened body and your equally weakened immune system

Otherwise, the normal hygiene recommendations apply, which you should always follow anyway:

  • Keep your hands away from your face, avoid touching your mouth, eyes or nose with your hands.
  • Keep a distance of 1 - 2 m from people with symptoms of the disease.
There's no need to wear a mouth guard or use hand sanitizer all the time. Washing your hands regularly offers far better protection. Even at home, using large amounts of sanitizer is not necessary.
