eGym GmbH | From Silicon Valley to Munich: Martin Fichter (52) is the new Chief Operating Officer (COO) of eGym GmbH. After almost two decades in the USA and China, Fichter is returning to his native Germany and will be responsible for areas including production, purchasing, customer service, technology and human resources at eGym. The position of COO at eGym has been newly created.

After working for Siemens (Munich, San Diego), Flextronics (Beijing) and HTC (Seattle), where he was responsible for the entire US business of the Taiwanese manufacturer of smartphones and tablet computers, Martin Fichter moved to Silicon Valley. Over the past three years, he has supported various start-up companies in product development and management as well as in operational business.

Martin Fichter "My family and I love change - both professionally and personally," says Martin Fichter about the reasons for his move. What attracted him to his new eGym position was the challenge of taking the fitness industry to a new level through innovation: "I find it incredibly interesting to tackle this with a combination of hardware and a cloud solution." Fichter emphasizes that he wants to help generate long-term value at eGym. Even now, just a short time after his return to Germany, he has noticed a very start-up-friendly climate here - especially at the two eGym locations in Munich and Berlin: "There are great ideas, excellently trained people and now the necessary long-term support from the capital market to realize global visions - the best conditions for a high-tech company like eGym!"

Martin Fichter, who holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and an MBA, is a keen sportsman himself. In addition to road cycling and tennis, he also has a passion for strength training discovered his heart for strength training. He is particularly interested in foreign languages and art history. Fichter is married and has two grown-up daughters.

Martin is very familiar with the management of dynamically changing growth companies from his time in Silicon Valley. eGym will therefore benefit from his experience in the areas of scaling and growth management, which are so important to us."
