For many years, the German Wellness Association has been committed to the appreciation and recognition of spa managers in German-speaking countries. By organizing challenging competitions and presenting awards, the association promotes professional development in the wellness industry. One highlight is the annual Spa Manager Awards, which honor outstanding achievements in this professional field.
The competition starts every year in September and culminates in a multi-stage elimination process lasting several months. The competition reached its climax on April 14, 2024: the six finalists were presented at FIBO in Cologne, the world's largest trade fair for fitness, wellness and health. The winners of the Spa Manager Awards were chosen in an exciting final. This year, the competition took place in two categories, with a total of 20 nominees.
Hotel Spa: Sp as located in a hotel that is not a wellness hotel or spa resort.
Resort Spa: Sp as that are part of a hotel or resort that is predominantly or exclusively visited by wellness and spa guests.
A high-caliber jury, consisting of experienced spa professionals and consultants Gesine Ponto, Keven Prünster and Joram Schirmaier, evaluated the participants in an intensive, three-stage process. They determined the nominees, the finalists and finally the winners of the prestigious award:
