Coffee run with Ironman world champion Jan Frodeno

Multipower Gels have become a popular source of carbohydrates for many endurance athletes. The new Frodissimo Gel from Multipower was developed in close cooperation with Ironman world champion Jan Frodeno. The result is impressive: Although the use of fructose was deliberately avoided (too sweet), the Frodissimo Gel has two effective carbohydrate sources in maltodextrin and isomaltose. To counteract the loss of sodium through sweat, the gel also contains 340 milligrams of salt.

The 2015 Sportsman of the Year does not experiment with flavors: Frodeno opts for a delicious and deliberately less sweet coffee-nut flavor. "I consumed 22 Multipower gels during the 8 hours of the IRONMAN Hawaii," says Jan Frodeno and continues: "I think I can give very solid feedback on how well the products work." This is also confirmed by Felix Steinmann, Senior Brands Manager Endurance at Multipower: "The special thing about the product development of the Frodissimo gel is Jan's ability to meticulously communicate and define his practical experience and exact needs as an athlete. Our R&D specialists were therefore able to translate Jan's "wish list" into a final product".
