Integrity - the redesigned cardio series from Life Fitness

4 Ratings

From the beginning, the good name of Life Fitness has stood for top-quality cardio equipment. But how do you redesign something that has stood the test of time? For the Integrity series, Life Fitness conducted a customer survey to find out what exercisers appreciate about the old series, what could be changed, and what they would like to see in a new series. Find out how the results were implemented in the Integrity Series here.

The Integrity Series: Overview

The Integrity series includes a treadmill, an elliptical cross trainer, the proven seated ergometer and a recumbent ergometer. Like all Life Fitness equipment, the Integrity Series can be equipped with different consoles: Choices include the Discover SE3 and SE3HD consoles with popular entertainment features, the sleek Discover ST with HD TV, or the functional, Integrity X consoles with 7-inch touchscreens, multiple workouts and digital connectivity. With the Integrity C console, users get a straightforward user interface with LED display. All Integrity Series equipment can be connected with LFconnect. The design of the Integrity Series was intentionally kept minimalist to create an inviting, aesthetic look. For greater customer convenience, the design has been modified to allow for the easiest possible maintenance.

What's different about the Integrity Series?

Typical pedal surfaces on cross trainers remain at a neutral angle during exercise. So while exercisers quickly find a comfortable foot position, this results in the foot being held static during exercise. This contact of the pedal with the ball of the foot can cause a numb feeling in the foot and even have paresthetic effects because the constant pressure can cause slight pinching of the nerves. Life Fitness has designed the Integrity Series with slightly inclined pedals that allow the foot to roll naturally. This results in more workout comfort due to the curved pedal design.

To simplify equipment maintenance, components in the drive system and assembly have been minimized. In addition, fewer moving parts were used. A simple manufacturing design allows maintenance personnel easier access to essential parts. Overall, hardware has been reduced by a whopping 30%. All plastic covers are easier to remove and the number of fasteners has been massively reduced. As a result, the Integrity Series is extremely rugged and durable, requiring less maintenance and service and making it easier to perform maintenance when it is needed.

For the Integrity series, Life Fitness completely redesigned the Integrity C console after customers from a total of 13 countries around the world requested a very simple control so that members could just get on and go at the gym without having to spend a lot of time learning how to use the equipment. To achieve this, over 60% of the control buttons on the Integrity C console were removed, and the most frequently used functions were moved to the front and placed centrally.

Conclusion

For the Integrity Series, Life Fitness conducted a customer survey and used the wants and needs of fitness professionals worldwide to provide exercisers with an even more satisfying workout experience. The Integrity Series scores with a sleek, aesthetically pleasing design, great stability, easy maintenance, greater workout comfort and the easy-to-use new C-consoles.
