A study by Mindbody and Classpass shows: Despite global pressures on disposable income, consumers are expected to continue to increase their investments in wellness. The study also provides six fitness and wellness predictions for 2024.

Consumers see health and fitness as an essential area of spending. Despite global pressures on disposable income, they plan to increase their investments in wellness and fitness. This is according to the second annual Mindbody + Classpass 2024 Predictions Report.

Six predictions for 2024

The report evaluated consumer testimonials and provides views from industry leaders on fitness and wellness trends in 2024. The report also lists six predictions for the coming year. These are:

  1. Strength training will maintain its popularity.
  2. Events in the fitness, beauty and wellness community will become increasingly popular.
  3. Consumers will expect science-based, performance-proven products and services.
  4. Sleep habits will continue to grow in importance.
  5. Consumers will combine temperature therapies.
  6. Older adults will seek out fitness facilities in greater numbers.

Analysis of responses from 11,000 consumers.

The Mindbody Classpass 2024 Predictions Report also summarizes findings from several industry reports published last year. These include, for example, the Accenture Consumer Pulse Survey 2022, which analyzed responses from 11,000 consumers in 16 countries.

It found that despite two-thirds (66%) of survey respondents saying they are under pressure financially, 80% intend to maintain or increase their spending on health and fitness.
