4 Ratings

Once a year, the best fitness training companies and trainees are honored with the Fitness Training Award. The honor recognizes excellence in the fitness industry and promotes that qualified professionals are ready for the future of the fitness sector. The application phase for the Fitness Training Award 2023 - presented by the IST Study Institute and the IST University of Management - is already in full swing. Companies that train together with IST can still apply until the end of August.

The fitness industry has continued to grow in importance in recent years and has increasingly developed into an important branch of the economy. In order to ensure the high standard of quality in this sector, it is crucial that trainees receive sound, high-quality training. This is precisely where the Fitness Training Award comes in, by recognizing the best training companies and trainees of the year.

Special commitment and outstanding performance

IST-Studieninstitut and IST-Hochschule, as industry experts, jointly created the award to promote the industry and honor excellence. The award winners are chosen in the categories "Best Trainee" and "Best Training Company". The winners can expect attractive prizes in addition to the award.

Training companies that train with the IST - whether as part of the company training program "Sport- und Fitnesskaufmann:frau (IHK)/Sport- und Gesundheitstrainer:in (IST)" or through the dual bachelor's degree program "Fitness Science and Fitness Economics" - have the opportunity to register themselves or their trainees for the award. The focus is on extraordinary commitment to high-quality training. Which trainees have particularly distinguished themselves? Whether through special campaigns, ideas or simply their daily work. What initiative have they themselves taken as a training company to make training as high-quality as possible? Interested companies can apply at www.ist.de/aktion/1728.

Attractive prizes

Winners of the Fitness Training Award not only receive the coveted award, but also benefit from increased visibility and reputation in the industry. The award serves as a seal of approval and proof of quality for fitness training companies and can help attract new customers and build trust. In addition, the best training company receives a scholarship for the next joint training with IST. The best trainee can look forward to a brand new iPad of the current generation. A jury consisting of experts from the fitness industry will select the winners after the closing date for applications. Last year, the Fitness Training Award was presented for the first time. EasyFit from Elsdorf was named best training company by the jury. The best trainee was Lucy Bügner from Hardy's Freizeit Sport & Event.

In-company training or dual studies

IST offers two training options in the field of fitness that provide participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to be successful in the industry. The in-company training to become a "Sports and Fitness Management Assistant" (IHK)/ Sports and Health Trainer" allows trainees to gain practical experience in a gym or sports facility. They learn both practical training and commercial skills in order to be able to work professionally in the field of sports and fitness training. In the process, they acquire numerous licenses and certificates, some of which can already be completed at the beginning of the training program.

The dual bachelor's degree program "Fitness Science and Fitness Economics," on the other hand, offers an academic education combined with practical training experience. Students acquire a sound knowledge of sports science and business administration topics and can apply this knowledge directly in their professional practice. These two educational opportunities at IST lay the foundation for a successful career in the fitness industry and offer participants a variety of perspectives for their professional future.
