Inbody 720 - Body composition analysis

The InBody measurement is a precise, painless bioimpedance analysis (BIA) that uses weak, harmless alternating currents to determine body composition
. Using an 8-point electrode system, the body is divided into five segments (torso, arms, legs) to measure fat, muscle and water content in detail.
How the InBody measurement works:

Technology: The device uses a so-called direct segmental multi-frequency measurement. It sends weak current pulses through the body and measures the resistance (impedance) of the tissue.
Segmental analysis: Since muscles, fat and water conduct electricity differently, the analysis can precisely differentiate between muscle mass, body fat percentage, water distribution (intra- and extracellular) and the dangerous visceral fat in the abdomen.
8-point electrode system: The person holds handles with thumb electrodes and stands on foot electrodes. This technique ensures that the current always starts at the wrist and the impedance is measured individually in each segment, which enables a high degree of reproducibility.
Procedure: Stand barefoot on the scale and hold the handles for approx. 1-2 minutes. The analysis does not require empirical estimates such as age or gender.
